Kris Detailleur doesn't usually do her holiday shopping the week after Halloween, but she can't help being lured by the prices.

"I've seen some good sales. I've noticed today here they've got a bunch of stuff on sale already and I thought, um, maybe I ought to start thinking about it sooner," she says while walking the isles at Target.

In an effort to get people buying, Target says it is offering aggressive price cuts on top toys earlier than usual this holiday season. They are not alone.

"We call it the Big Book, but this is the Biggest Big Book ever, " says Tera Campbell with Toys R Us.

Last weekend the company sent out its annual holiday sale flyer packed with deals. On top of those, you can expect even more bargains.

"We have weekly sales, we have two-day ads, door-buster Fridays and Saturdays," says Campbell.

"Yeah, they're trying to get people excited," says Buzz Anderson with the Minnesota Retailers Association.

Anderson says stores recognize consumer confidence is still low. He says the big push by retailers is good news for shoppers.

"There's a lot of early deals and a lot of aggressive sales and it gives people the opportunity to get out and take advantage of some really good buys," Anderson says.

And it's not just toys. You'll also find big bargains on technology too.

"You get a notebook, laptop, desktop. You get the in-home networking set-up and a router for $1200," says Tonya Levinski as she explains the latest deep discount available at  Best Buy.
